George Floyd 2020

We established this charity because we believe in the power of education to change lives. We strive to ensure that people are Known, Valued and Loved. We believe that every person, regardless of their skin colour, family history or beliefs, deserves the chance of a future. A future full of opportunities and a future without prejudice or racism. Everything we do, we do in support of the oppressed, marginalised and those who have suffered at the hands of those who mean to harm.

We are saddened at the death of George Floyd and are appalled at the violence and injustice of the circumstances that surrounds it, we are also saddened that it has taken the death of yet another black person for people to stand up and speak, but today we stand with our friends, family, and colleagues all over the world, to say that we as a charity will do all we can to share the message, that this time it needs to stick – words are no longer enough. We cannot simply talk about prejudice, injustice and racism, and not act whilst it still exists in our world.

Education is key. But we need to win hearts and minds – we need people to learn to love, we need people to learn to understand and we need people to stand up for the rights of others.

Our mission is ‘for all people to have aspirations, equal opportunities and for communities to flourish’ – this will only happen when people stop talking about change and start making change happen.
