Why You Shouldn’t Donate to KnownValuedLoved (…Unless You Want to Change Lives)

Updated: Nov 23

Let’s just say it out plainly: Many of you have followed us from the start, some of you love our social media posts. Some of you like them. Some of you share them. Some of you even comment. Some of you compliment my blogs!!!!

And some of you - wonderfully, generously - already donate.

To you: thank you. Truly. You’re the reason this work keeps happening.

And yet some of you… you’ve never actually donated to KnownValuedLoved or any of our fundraisers. This makes us sad!

So here’s a cheeky Christmas question:

Why not?

I promise-this isn’t a guilt trip and I know I'm probably taking a risk asking the question. Think of it more as a gentle nudge or encouragement to do good on a frosty morning, delivered with a cheesy smile and maybe the tiniest eyebrow raise.

So why is it?

Reason 1: “I’m Just Here for the Inspiring Stories”

Fair enough. Our stories are inspiring - because the young people, teachers and school leaders we support are incredible. Their resilience and hope are worth celebrating week after week.

But here’s the truth: every inspiring story begins with someone choosing to support the work.

And if you’re already one of those generous souls, thank you. If you’re not yet, maybe this is your moment.

Reason 2: “My Little Bit Won’t Make a Difference”

This might be the biggest myth of all.

KnownValuedLoved isn’t fuelled by a handful of huge donations. It’s powered by everyday generosity - small donations, regular givers, people choosing kindness in practical ways.

Your ‘little bit’ buys learning materials. Your ‘little bit more’ helps us develop and deliver training sessions .Your monthly gift? That’s the quiet, steady heroism that keeps the whole mission moving.

And if you already give monthly: you’re the backbone of the work. But you also have something powerful... influence. You can help someone else take that first step too.

Reason 3: “You Probably Don’t Need My Help Anyway”

We love your optimism. We really do.

But the need is real, growing, and urgent. More children and communities are affected by conflict. More teachers need training. More safe spaces need building.

We rely on supporters. We rely on those who give and we rely on those who bring others with them.

If you already donate, you’re helping create stability and hope. If you don’t yet... now is a powerful moment to begin.

Reason 4: “I Don’t Know If My Support Really Matters”

We celebrate what your donations make possible. We want to make sure you feel - Known, Valued, and Loved too.

It does. It absolutely does. There are thousands of charities out there and you want to know that your generosity is actually seen and appreciated.

One thing we take pride in at KnownValuedLoved is how we care for our supporters - new and longstanding. We share the impact of your giving. We celebrate what you make possible. We show you the real, tangible difference you’re part of.

Because giving isn’t just financial. It’s personal. It’s partnership. It’s believing that every child deserves to be Known, Valued, and Loved.

Reason 5: “I’ve Been Meaning To… I Just Haven’t Got Around to It”

We get it. Life is busy. Your to-do list is nearly as long as your Christmas shopping list and giving sometimes slips to the bottom.

So let’s make it easy: Is now the moment? Is today the day you move from “I support the idea” to “I support the work”? From follower to donor? From cheerleader to champion?

Because honestly—we need you, and the reality is the children we serve need you even more.
