Our Mission

We believe education is the key to seeing lives rebuilt and communities impacted by conflict restored. We develop, support, and inform education provision where it’s needed most to give young people the chance of a better future.

Our Vision

Our vision is for all children and young people to have access to relevant, high-quality education as a basic human right. For people to be aspirational and have life opportunities and for their communities to flourish.

HOW WE WORK

It's all about teamwork.

We can’t do it alone.

We work in partnership with local and national organisations. Working in a culturally sensitive way, to equip and empower the local community.

We will provide practical and financial support to improve both the equality of access and quality of education provision available to communities impacted by conflict.

Key areas include teacher training, teacher and support staff professional development, equipment (books, resources), building costs, building adaptations, project costs, salary costs to name a few.

As an experienced team (within education delivery, education law, safeguarding and social work) the charity can also offer services and additional support. We can support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards to ensure our partners can set high standards, safely, and have high aspirations for all the young people they work with.

TEACHERS TOOLKIT

EQUIPPING TEACHERS TO TEACH

We want to ensure that teachers around the world have easy access to the best resources possible. Cutting down on their planning time whilst ensuring that the quality of the work they provide for their children is good. Our teacher's toolkit is designed to provide access to resources, schemes of work, templates, and more.

We can also create bespoke resources to meet the needs of the curriculum in specific countries and education systems.

GRANT GIVING PARTNERSHIPS

Our grant programme exists to support education providers (local NGOs, schools, etc) to improve the access to education in their community,  the quality of education available, or both.

This is partly achieved by the provision of grants (or where a direct financial transaction is not possible, the provision of resources). All grants will be applied for by the education provider and will need to demonstrate how the funds or resources aim to improve access to, or quality of the education available to members of their community.

Grants will ideally (but not exclusively) be available to organisations that have completed our Education Development Programme, and will form part of the school development plan. The grants will ideally support the creation and implementation of new initiatives and interventions designed to achieve the previously mentioned targets, and funds to cover general running costs/ overheads, etc can be included, where they can be shown to directly link to the project. In some circumstances, we will consider funding a pre-existing project, but more detailed information will be requested as to the history and previous outcomes of the project. All projects must show how they will be sustainable (financially) beyond the agreed time scales set and/ or have set agreed outcomes.

The grant pot is made up of a proportion of our income and therefore is subject to change based on projected annual income.

Resources

Our platform provides two useful resources for teachers: Teacher Tips and Teaching Resources.

Teacher Tips are short presentations that offer quick and practical solutions to common questions and challenges teachers face in their classrooms, serving as a reference for new and experienced teachers alike.

Teaching Resources is a library of materials for teachers to use in their lessons and classroom activities, saving time and providing inspiration for lesson planning.

Our partner schools and communities can benefit from these regularly updated resources, which cover a variety of subjects and cater to different age groups and learning styles.

Teacher and student tracking documents have been created to monitor progress and identify areas of difficulty. These tools help learners understand their strengths and weaknesses, work on specific areas, and stay motivated by seeing their progress over time.
